Odin is a “co-therapist” here at MindWell. He first dipped his paws into the world of psychotherapy when he was 3 years old, as part of exposure therapy to help people overcome their fear of dogs. Over the years, Odin has expanded his therapy skills to include empathic listening (listening and offering emotional support while getting a pet), mindfulness (focusing on the sensation of the pets he is getting in the present moment without judgment), and behavioral activation ["let's go for a walk!"]. He is especially skilled in meditation. He can go into a meditative trance so deep and relaxing that it may look like he’s napping. Odin loves being rewarded for his excellent therapy techniques with some gentle scratches, pets, and attention. When he’s not working, he enjoys sunbathing, going on car rides, and meeting new animals.
