Mary (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Vermont and New York. Viewing people as experts of their own experiences, Mary aims to create a supportive and collaborative environment where children, families, and adults advocate for their needs, feel multitudes of emotions, explore their thoughts, and develop skills to navigate the complexities of the human experience and change patterns. Mary encourages continuity of care, and she has had extensive experience working within interdisciplinary teams and coordinating services to enhance care. In her work with children, Mary believes that collaboration with parents, caregivers, and educators is essential for progress, and she has had experience providing education, coaching, and clinical feedback that serves all.
Mary has been trained and practiced in evidenced-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and evidenced-based approaches, such as Motivational Interviewing and Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC). Mary uses these therapies and approaches in her work while also maintaining a strong commitment to being accessible, affirming, antiracist, person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed.
Outside of the office, Mary enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, finding joy and community in movement (e.g. kickboxing, hiking, cycling), tending to her many plants, and playing with her three dogs.
