Lauren Haas-Sulzer, LMSW

Training: Binghamton University (Master of Social Work), Temple University (Bachelor of Arts in Psychology)

Lauren (she/her) is a social worker who enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and children from all backgrounds and intersecting identities. She focuses on the strengths and resilience of her clients, trusts them to be the experts of their own experiences, and provides a warm and supportive environment to explore their thoughts, feelings, and desires for change. As a therapist, her style is humanistic and relational, often incorporating cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, emotion-focused approaches, and somatic practices. She integrates these different approaches according to each client's needs. Lauren is experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as life transitions, relationship issues, and the concerns of parents and caregivers. Lauren also has a special interest in working with older adults and retirees. She is strongly committed to being an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician who integrates social justice into her work whenever possible. Prior to joining MindWell, Lauren completed training at Beverly J. Martin Elementary School, providing children with individual and group counseling, educational support, and crisis intervention. She then completed clinical training in psychotherapy here at MindWell and is thrilled to remain on the team. Prior to her career as a social worker, Lauren spent over a decade working in institutions of higher education, specializing in student services, learning assessment, and instructional design. Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys gardening, cooking, and relaxing at any of the beautiful Finger Lakes.
