Dr. Emma Wilkinson is a licensed clinical psychologist at MindWell who specializes in providing therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. She works collaboratively with individuals and families to address anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), adjustment to life transitions, identity exploration, behavioral concerns, and executive functioning challenges.
Dr. Wilkinson draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Parent Management Therapy (PMT), mindfulness-based strategies, and positive behavior supports to meet clients’ goals. She particularly enjoys working with neurodivergent youth and adults, including Autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD individuals, as well as people with learning and intellectual disabilities. Dr. Wilkinson is deeply committed to strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming care and strives to create a therapeutic space that is warm, collaborative, and inclusive, where clients feel understood and respected.
In addition to therapy, Dr. Wilkinson provides comprehensive assessments for ADHD, autism, learning disabilities and other developmental conditions across the lifespan. She is passionate about centering clients’ lived experiences throughout the evaluation process while integrating gold-standard, evidence-based assessment practices. Dr. Wilkinson is attentive to the ways neurodiversity may present differently across gender, culture, and life experience, and she values working with individuals and communities that have historically been underserved in diagnostic settings, including girls and women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC individuals, and adults seeking diagnosis later in life.
Dr. Wilkinson has previously worked in hospital, school-based, and community settings providing evidence-based assessment and therapy. Her past research has focused on parent-mediated interventions, understanding co-occurring mental health conditions in autistic youth, and the psychological impact of autism stigma. In her free time, Dr. Wilkinson loves to cook, play video games, read fiction, hike, paddleboard, and play with her cat.
